Welcome to the OPA Support Group for Norfolk & Waveney

Welcome to the OPA support group for Norfolk and Waveney district and the surrounding area.

Anyone diagnosed with, recovering from or having recovered from oesophageal/gullet or stomach cancer are welcome along with those who are suffering with Barretts oesophagus or GORD.

We are here to offer help and support either by telephone, local meetings or literature.

Getting There:

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is situated four miles from the centre of Norwich, close to the University of East Anglia (UEA), to the south west of Norwich, and adjacent to the A47 and A11. The postcode is NR4 7UY.

    NEW BUS TICKET
    The Fusion bus ticket allows passengers to travel on the bus services of Anglian Coaches, First, Konect, Norfolk Green, Sanders, Simonds and Norse within approximately a ten mile radius of Norwich. The ticket costs £5.50 for Adults. Child and family tickets are also available. It is valid all day (from 0500 to 0200 the next morning), for as many journeys as you like, and you can pass it on to a friend or relative to use too. Full details, including maps showing areas covered, can be found on the Council website at

  • First Eastern Counties divides Norwich into 5 fare zones, and fares relate to the number of zones through which you travel. The hospital is located within zone 4. Many different ticket types are available. For all comments, complaints, lost property and fares information call 08456 020121.

  • By car/motorbik

    Travelling from the A47 – leave the A47 at the junction for the B1108 following road signs for Norwich city centre and the Hospital.  At the junction of the B1108 with Colney Lane, turn right and continue straight down Colney Lane through the Norwich Research Park. 

    Travelling from the A11 – Leave the A11 at the first roundabout after the Thickthorn A47/A11 junction. Turn left at the Cringleford roundabout and follow the road signs for the Hospital.

    Travelling from Norwich and North Norfolk – follow road signs for the University and Hospital (B1108), continue past the UEA on the left hand side and turn left on to Colney Lane following the signs for the Norwich Research Park and the Hospital.    

    Travelling from Norwich city centre – leave the city centre following signs for A11 Thetford. Once on the A11 follow the Hospital road signs to Cringleford and turn right at the Cringleford roundabout and continue to follow the road signs for the Hospital.

Car Parking

Car parking is FREE - Bring your car parking ticket to the OPA meeting and it will be replaced with a pre-validated one.
